About the Book

This book is a biography of Albert Einstein and also discusses his theory. The Theory of Relativity is a masterpiece of science that greatly increased our understanding of the universe and profoundly influenced our world. This book has simple derivations of his theory. The goal of this book is to help high school and college students, as well as the general public, understand Einstein’s theory and his philosophy. His grandson, Bernard Einstein, wrote the Foreword that adds a personal touch to the story.

The first part of the book, Chapters 1 to 7, gives a concise outline of Einstein’s life and accomplishments with many anecdotes to keep readers interested. The second part deals with his theory. Chapters 8 through 13 present the derivations of Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity and equations using high school algebra. His most famous equation, E = mc2, is derived in four simple steps using high school algebra.
