About the Book

The Shoshone are on the warpath, attacking wagon trains, trails and settlements in the wilds of Eastern Oregon.

Into this maelstrom comes Bit Comity, her husband Richard and her son Morgan. Richard is killed in an accident crossing a stream. Bit refuses to continue. She chooses to move into the grasslands and build a house and set down roots.

Bit lives out her life as the war continues and ranches begin to emerge. She survives with the help of Morgan, Abel Cahn, Sees Far and an abiding faith in the land given by God to the people.
