About the Book

This is not the retelling of a hurricane that’s been here.  SURGE is the story of the one that’s coming.

A Category 5 hurricane is bearing down on Galveston Island. Unknown to the sixty thousand residents desperately trying to flee the wrath of Mother Nature, there is an even greater threat to their safety than the storm. An angry man is secretly planning revenge that could set in motion a chain reaction along the entire Gulf Coast, rivaling the destruction of Hiroshima.

Rod Tanner takes you on this harrowing journey through the eyes of a blue-collar worker whose life revolves around his family, a sleazy developer and his equally self-centered wife, a madman bent on revenge, a politician with a gambling addiction, a young girl who has come to a crossroads in her life and a fireman whose life has suddenly become meaningless. Not all will survive Dolly’s fury and the ones that do will never be the same

SURGE is the best thrill-ride to come out of the ocean since Jaws.
