Executive Conspiracy?

Executive Conspiracy? Started out as a literary project to explore the forgotten causes of the 2003 invasion of Iraq.  The initial objective was to explore the stated reasons for the, then impending invasion of the nation of Iraq. The reasons being given by seem to be changing with time. Our politicians appeared to be looking for something that would stick with the their respective nations and the international community.

However, while we labored to complete this project, the Iraqi invasion took place. And lives began to be lost on both sides. The American people, it seemed, were being overwhelmed with misinformation from a well-oiled propaganda machine. The mass media seemed at a lost to find the investigative reporting in did in Viet Nam. It appeared that we were in the mist of a major political propaganda machine working overtime drumming up support for a preemptive invasion of Iraq. Millions of demonstrators around the world did not see a VALID REASON for the invasion. If there was not a valid reason then a crime may have been in the process of being committed. We thought, we hoped, that this could was NOT true.

After the invasion ended and the occupation began, President Bush declared the “end of hostilities“. We saw the international community began to question the reasons for going to war, in the first place. It became clear that NO WMDs were used against the invading armies. A reasonable person would think that if a dictator such as Saddam Hussein had WMDs, he would have not hesitated to use them against an invading army. He did use them over 20 years earlier against his own people. Six months into the occupation, a search by over 1200 coalition inspectors and over 150,000 military personnel, did not yield any WMDs. Why did we invade? We began to see a disturbing pattern in the thousands of pages of research, Internet sources and declassified documents. It appeared prudent to re-direct our research efforts into sort of a Crimes 101 research project.

We also made a fateful decision not be authors, rather, take the role of commentators and facilitators. The new task was to present pure facts to the reader. To guide the reader to the political statements of prime actors, or perpetrators, in actions looking more and more like a tragic international conspiracy. The name of the project changed from War Drums: Keeping Focus to Executive Conspiracy? 

We began to form a picture via street conversations, news reports and documentation given to us, that there was something more sinister at hand. We had questions. Was the plan to invade Iraqi given an unexpected boost when terrorists, attacked the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001? After the terrorist attack, the Bush Administration took aim at the terrorist and Osama Bin Laden. We boomed Afghanistan removed the Taliban from power and moved on to other things. The major public efforts were expertly shifted to “terrorist” connections of Iraq. The 9/11 Tragedy seemed to be taking back stage to the preparations for the invasion of Iraq. Never mind that the just months earlier, our own CIA did not rate Iraq as a major threat to the United States, the United Kingdom or the world. Definitely, not in the same class as North Korea with her proven nuclear program.

Executive Conspiracy? does NOT condemn any member of the brave armed forces or intelligence services of the coalition nations that invaded Iraq. They did and are doing as their political leaders direct. They serve gallantly with honor and dedication. They do not deserve to die and injured in a far away land for reasons that may prove to be false. During the research on this project, we received many personal thoughts from those in the armed forces and national security sector, though they wish to remain anonymous, we commend their courage and dedication.

Executive Conspiracy? expose the reader to the exact words of the Executive Branches of government of two nations, the United States and the United Kingdom/Great Britain. The reader will read the words of President George W. Bush, Prime Minister Tony Blair and other senior members of their respective political administrations. The reader will not be feed edited sound bites. In Executive Conspiracy? The reader is challenged to view these statements in a new light that of a jurist looking for clues to a crime. Throughout the project the reader is given the designation, READER/JUROR.

This methodology caused the project to contain some material not directly related to its objective. However, to ensure accuracy of the pronouncements, the full-unedited text of the selected speeches, appearances, declassified documents are used. No government official is misquoted or taken out of context. All material has been declassified and is available to any member of the public with the desire to learn the truth and spend the months doing the research.

Students in journalism, political science, philosophy and research ethics may use Executive Conspiracy? As a timeless study in the political behavior. Students of law may use the project to see if they can find the elements of a crime. They could even use Cliff notes to aid their research.

COMMENTARIES and EXHIBITS: To assist the reader/juror, the body of the research project is divided into Commentaries and Exhibits. Commentaries are the free following opinions and conclusions of the authors, a group of dedicated anonymous legal professionals and civil servants. The commentaries were designed to be much like the statements a prosecutor might make to a Grand Jury seeking an indictment. The following text, speeches, statements, documents and interviews are called Exhibits. The commentary may direct the reader/juror to specific underlined or highlighted sections in the Exhibits. If a
