“Therefore
if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation--the old is gone, the new has
come!”
(II
Corinthians 5:17, NIV) When I
meditate on this powerful scripture and I am once again reminded of how awesome
God is. It is my greatest desire that
this book will in some small way express my sincere appreciation to Him for
what He has done in my life in such a short period of time. I would like to share with you how this book
was conceived--I pray that it will be of further enlightenment to your spirit.
The
“seed” was implanted in me at my rebirth in Christ. It came to my awareness after I had a dream
in which I actually died as a result of a suicidal drug overdose. I awoke startled by its “real-ness”, but at
the same time relieved to find that it was only a dream. The images and story that unfolded in the
dream stayed with me for days thereafter.
I went to God in prayer asking for clarity--He answered:
“The
story that unfolded in your dream was a vision into the future that Satan
lay-in-wait to give you. His plan from
the beginning was to STEAL your confidence, KILL
your hopes and dreams, and ultimately DESTROY your will to live and take
your life. He saw my mark on you at your
birth, and he has been trying to kill you ever since. What he continues to forget is that I am more
powerful than he could ever hope to be, and MY Will SHALL
be done.”
My
dream, and God’s clarification of it, showed me that I had been enslaved by the
enemy for many years, and his torturous devices at work in my life had brought
him much enjoyment. The dream portrayed
me bound by my wrists between two trees.
I stood there, virtually hanging by my hands, bloody, beaten and
bruised, exhausted by the pain. Satan
stood in front of me laughing, squealing with joy at my agony. But he was becoming bored with torturing me
and was ready
to “finish me off” by having me take my own life. Just then, Jesus stepped in between us and
rebuked the enemy proclaiming, “MY blood purchased this child, she doesn’t
belong to you, and I’m taking back what belongs to me!”
Shortly
after my re-birth, my pastor gave us a powerful definition of the word “redemption”
in one of his messages. As I thought
about the words spoken to me about my dream, I was reminded of that definition
which referred to “when a family member pays a price to buy someone back from
slavery or ownership by someone else”.
At that precise moment, God gave me the title of this book--REDEMPTION
OF GRACE -signifying the “purchase” of my soul from the ownership of the
devil.
From
that day to this, I have felt as though I was pregnant in my spirit. Just like an expectant mother in the natural,
there was an excitement within because I knew something was “stirring” inside
of me. It was kind of frustrating
because I could not describe it to anyone, they could not feel it, and they
certainly did not see anything happening.
But after a while, subtle changes began to emerge.
Countless
times I have asked God to grant me the opportunity to share with the world what
He has done in my life. I feel that
writing this book serves a two-fold purpose for me. (1) It gives me an opportunity to publicly
give God, my heavenly Father, glory and praise for what He has done for me, and
(2) I pray that by my witness, someone will come to the realization that what
God has done in my life, He longs to do for them also. GOD IS NO RESPECTOR OF PERSONS,
and He wants to set you free from the pain and bondage you are enduring.
The
One and ONLY True and Living God is mighty in power, and His grace and mercy
are infinite in measure. I am no longer
a walking corpse, I am now a living witness. Embark with me now, if you will, on my
journey from the hopeless pit of darkness into His marvelous light...

About the Book
For
thirty-seven years, I harbored unspeakable pain within. Day after agonizing day I suffered in
silence, my soul being virtually “eaten away” little by little. After years of
nightmares, abusive relationships, and drug and alcohol addiction, I hit rock bottom. Satan had been using these devices in order
to destroy me. He did not realize he was running me right to the last
place he wanted me to go--into the arms of Jesus.
God
has done some awesome things in my life over the past four years. Although I am still in the healing process,
by God’s grace I am no longer a victim, but a victor! Despite numerous attacks on my health, my
mind, my finances, and my family, I rise.
I rise each day a little stronger, and see each day a little brighter
than the one before.
This
book unfolds a very intimate look into my life.
From the surface, my appearance (as well as my life) did not fit the
stereotypical “face of addiction”. No
one knew how dangerously close I was to death--no one but me, and God.
God
has shown me that no matter how deep the pit may be,
His arms are able to reach us. My story
has been written not only for victims of abuse and addictions which do not yet
know the Lord Jesus, but also for those in the Body of Christ that are still in
pain and bondage.
May
it be a beacon of light, assuring there is hope IN CHRIST JESUS.
About the Author
Yolanda
Grace Jones is a native of Chesapeake, Virginia. She is married to Rodney A. Jones, Sr. and
they have two beautiful daughters, Brianna Nicole and Treasure Imani Jones.
Yolanda
received Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at the age of thirty-seven,
having been delivered from years of internal torment and hidden addictions. Her
vision is to inspire, encourage, and empower others to seek an intimate
relationship with God.
Although
well-educated, she does not have a college degree. She is just an ordinary person,
possessing a heart of passion for an extraordinary God. Her writings are not complicated or hard to
comprehend--they carry a simple message, JESUS CHRIST IS ALIVE--He longs to
embrace you with His love, and provide your every need.
