About the Book

The year is 1892. An assignment brings U. S. Marshal Kendall to Johnson County, Wyoming, land of his boyhood. Overnight, he becomes embroiled in the affairs of the small ranchers, who are being terrorized by the outlaw forces prevalent there. He plays an indirect but highly important role in The Johnson County Cattle War, bringing it to a rapid close. Afterwards, he remains in the territory to combat lawlessness and to help insure the liberties of freedom and justice to the citizens of Wyoming as guaranteed by The Constitution of The United States of America.

Incapacitated by a serious injury, Kendall, for the first time in his career, must seek aid and depend on others for protection from his enemies. Loving care by Beth Conley and her children and an unexpected inheritance determines his future, and he comes to the realization of just how lonely his life before has been.

There are warm, tender moments in the story. There are comedic incidents, which will make you chuckle...or laugh outright. It is a good read for those who enjoy a romantic western.
