About the Author

Dinah Senkungu was born and raised in a village deep in the heart of Uganda, passionately recalls spending her early pre-school days drawing on the ground and learning life’s lessons from the native folklore told to her by her elder relatives.  She brings knowledge of the beautiful and timeless quality embodied in cultural folklore with her as she endeavors to enlighten her students.

Dinah has taught English in both elementary and high school abroad.  She is currently teaching in the United States of America and working on a doctorate degree in Education.

Bruce Seaman was immediately attracted to these delightful stories from African culture.  He spent his childhood in rural New Jersey.  Often playing alone in the nearby woods and fields with only his dog for company, he created his own childhood stories that were filled with characters who shares his boyhood adventures.  When Dinah and Bruce first met, Bruce was struck by her enthusiasm for her stories and she liked his flair for the dramatic.  So, they began to collaborate.  She drew from the stories told to her during her youth in Africa.  He drew from the action images of his early childhood stories.
