Life is uncertain, but your destiny is sure!
Where we think there is no connection, there is!
If
you had to select an object or objects (non human) that would best describe who
you are, which object would it be? Would
you be a couch potato? The kind of person who sits back and waits for things to happen. Or are you a mover and a shaker. A mouse that scurries
around in search of new cheese and not ever forgetting that you cannot become
comfortable in your present environment because it is subject to change at
anytime. Are you a
chameleon? You spend your entire life
changing to make everyone around you happy.
Are you the door to your house? The kind of person who only opens when someone is knocking or needs
to enter. Maybe an antique vase that never makes any changes and after a
period of time the dust starts to collect on your feet and soon your entire
body. Well, after doing some personal
soul searching, I came to the realization that I am a “diamond in the rough.” Did I plan to be this “diamond in the rough,”
you may ask. No! This is one of the many splendors of God’s
power. It’s a part of my “DESTINY.” What will happen is going to happen. There are qualities and magnificent aspects
that we possess that never surface because we don’t know how to unleash
them. We don’t have an earthly
plan. Yes, it takes us putting forth an
effort to get what God has in store for us.
Please don’t think God is going to do it all for you. You must have a plan that includes God as the
“pilot” of all of your many trips around situations, problems, confrontations,
successes, or whatever else it is that we have to go through to come out on
top.
It’s
sad and comical at the same time how some people go through their entire life
without having a plan. Yes, some things
do happen spontaneously, but for the most part we need a plan or road map to
help us meet the challenges that will come because of our “destiny.” And without a plan or an agenda, we become
one of the many butt kissers or cheese eaters because we cannot move up the
ladder of success without the help or should I say the dirty, underhanded plans
of others in higher positions.
No! I am not a cheese eater or a butt
kisser. I am a successful Black Women,
who knows where she is going and how she plans to get there. Here’s how I rate
myself among the other millions of women out there in this big world.
I Am . . .
I am one of many black women
May it be tall, short, stout, or slim
I am a unique black woman, no replica of me will you see
I fit in a class of mortals, but I am in a class by myself, unique
Black, strong, and intelligent, it's all true
"I can't" is not a part of my being
"Won't" is not a word
I might be able" is not something I'll say
I can, I will, I must succeed
My thoughts and my dreams make me special
You can't hurt, handle, or take them from me
My delightful smile is the door to my intelligence
My black eyes are the stones of persuasion
My heart is a pearl not easily corrupted
All these qualities make me, yes me and there is no other
You might try to act like me, dress like
me, or even love like me
But it is only an imitation, I am GENUINE!
I Am A Black Woman, I Am A Black Woman, I Am A Black
Woman
Take a close look at me.
