About the Book

This is the heartwrenching story of Richard L. Mook’s life and the personal losses he suffered.   You will be emotionally touched as you read about his growing up in severely poor economic conditions and stressful circumstances in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio.  You will surely weep as you read about this man who lost the nine people in the world who were closest to him.  He lost his mother, sister, father, “another” mother, two brothers, his wife, daughter, and son.  Eight of these nine people averaged less than 35 years of age.

The book details many of the trials and tribulations he experienced in his life and vividly describes how he dealt with the grief involved in each of his losses.  It tells how he overcame all his grief and problems with the help of many people, friends and, most especially, the Lord.  Mr. Mook wrote the book with the hope that, despite all his losses, some good would come from all of it and that others might learn from his life experiences.

In the book, From Grief to Glory, the author talks about the three different phases of his life:  where he has been, where he is today, and where he will be tomorrow.  He shows how he was led FROM GRIEF TO GLORY and the plans that the Lord still has for him, plans for a future and a hope.

About the Author

The author, Richard L. Mook, was born in rural Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania, and, after moving at about the age of ten, was raised on a farm near Conneaut, Ohio.  Despite growing up under poor economic conditions and many dire circumstances, he graduated from Rowe High School in Conneaut and attended Lake Community College in Mentor, Ohio.

During and after losing his nine closest family members, Mr. Mook turned to God for help and understanding.  He decided, after retiring from the Lincoln Electric Company in Euclid, Ohio, with 37 years of service, to write this book with the hope of helping others going through similar circumstances.  Along with writing, the author also speaks at various churches, delivering a message of how God has led him from grief to glory.  He now resides in Mentor, Ohio.
