About the Book

It is hard to explain how an historical account based on a true life person could have been written leaving out those facts that would substantiate the story.  In my research for this book, I found that the real story of Billy the Kids life and death has, in fact, never been written.

As anyone who has researched any subject, for factual documentation to support their contention knows, that if such and such has been written, than it can be found in the facts present in its written documentation.  Not so with the facts surrounding the life and death of Billy the Kid.

How did Billy the Kid meet his final destiny - let me count the ways.  I cannot understand how such an important character, within our Western History, could have been killed in so many different settings or versions of his final demise by supposedly so many authorative accountings.  I am, to this day, still wondering what all the facts of his death are!  Although my book attempts to answer these questions - I am not sure I have succeeded.  Only the reader can make this determination!

About the Author

After retiring from the United States Air Force in 1968 he, along with his family, moved to Canyon Lake, Texas where he and his wife still reside.  Prior to his final retirement at age 62, in 1992, he worked in various capacities and for awhile he wrote a weekly column for a local newspaper.  With his final retirement, he took a course in creative writing and wrote his first book in 1993.  Since that time he has written several novels, two of which are now available on Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble - B&N.com.

His book Billy the Kid - The Elder is the authors attempt to rewrite the facts, as historically written, regarding the life and death of Billy the Kid.
