III. The Mind Influences Over The Body
We know that the devoted mind can influence the body. We know from the study of our physiology that the brain coordinates muscles and provides chemicals for the body. But, there are many, more-subtle, influences of the mind.The mind, as used here, is the thinking, reasoning part of a person that exerts will and courage, displays genuine affection, receives intuitions, has insights and ideas, shows creativity and imagination, has hope, thrills to beauty, experiences contentment, happiness, and compassion, exercises morals, and holds to ideals. It is the mind that has the objectives and makes the plans. Can neuronal-action (electrical activity) in the brain explain all of that? I'd rather not make such an assumption, but, rather leave that as a question until we see what the facts imply. Rather than just probing and scanning the brain for neuronal-functions and studying chemical influences, let's also look at the results of the mind's actions and influences.The mind can influence the physiological conditions of the body in several ways. Commonly known influences include the face flushing (blushing) from emotional reactions and nervousness. Fear can cause the body to shake, adrenalin to flow, and more.The mind may be able to direct the repair of a damaged body. There seems to be something that heads our bodies toward healing even when the type of healing is different than the structure that existed before, as in collateral blood-vessel formation.
VI. Subliminal Creativity
Have you ever wondered what it takes to be more creative? Well, perhaps all you have to do is to pray and listen to the answers. Have you ever awoke from sleep and had the answer (or a method of finding the answer) to a problem that you had toiled over and prayed about before? If you have you are not alone. If you haven't you have missed a way of creativity. There seems to be in (or with) all of us a capability to obtain answers to problems and to be an instrument of creativity without our recalling the process later.I have always been intrigued by the fact that I often awake from the night's sleep with the answers to problems on which I struggled the day before. I seem to know things without being able to explain how I learned them. My career has included the research and design of complex products and advanced systems. Ordinary (textbook) design problems were solvable, and explainable, when I was fully awake. But, there were many times when I was confronted with the need to design something with a feature that was not within the well-known laws of engineering, chemistry, and physics and which some colleagues said could not be done. I needed to find a better way. Some creativity was required. I often tried, for hours, new analytical approaches to problems, while using the results of extensive literature-searches and consultations with experts in the various technical-disciplines, without finding a lead to the answer. Sometimes, struggle as I may, I wouldn't get the answer but would have it when I awoke the next morning. The answers obtained in that manner were verifiable by analyses and tests.

About the Book
We have found real evidence of
the human soul and of immortality. Our research notes were turned into a book
about genuine Miracles of the Mind, including the influences the mind can have
on health and well-being, how to increase one's creativity, be more aware, and
be happier.
This study was initiated to
determine how much of the mind is dependent on brain-action and how much simply
uses the brain as a set of tools. This clinical and phenomenological study was
different because it didn't start with the assumption that brain
neuronal-functions can explain all aspects of the mind. Although it was
important to understand brain neuronal-functions, there is more than that to
the understanding of the mind, to understanding the source of our will,
courage, affection, insights, ideas, creativity, imagination, hope, thrills to
beauty, contentment, happiness, compassion, morals, and ideals.
As a result of initial findings,
the study was expanded into the help that the mind gets from outside the brain
and associated senses. A correlation is shown between extrasensory-perception,
near-death, out-of-body experience stories, gifted children, and recollections
by small children of past lives.
About the Author
He has held research-management,
engineering, and technical-investigative positions in, and been a consultant to,
the General Motors Corporation, The General Electric Company, and some smaller
organizations. He has been on the teams for some of the most-innovative and
highly-technical undertakings of the past half-century. He was literally a
rocket scientist.
He has prepared hundreds of
research reports, published to the people for whom the research was performed,
including the U.S. Government. Some of his research reports have been published
in professional publications. He has written technical articles on subjects of
interest to the general public, published in newspapers. He presently is editor
of a local newspaper.
