In a glorious state where the hills gently rise,

For beauty and peace in this borough did nestle
And nature in all of its glory abounds.
Generations of farms on the outskirts of town
Where kinfolk contentedly tend to their crops,
Encompass the town where the muse can be found
In a charming collection of artisan shops.
Herein our tale begins with a house
The realtor longs to see listed as sold,
But rumors of hauntings and other strange deeds
Have made it a burden to lease or unload.
For the house in our story is none other than
The manor of Jonathan Ash,
Who erected the edifice with his own hand
When he settled this land in the past.
With the sweat of his brow a homestead he raised
And a prosperous town it became,
An endeavor if ever deserving of praise
And rightfully bearing his name.
How Ashville was blessed with profound peacefulness,
The livestock and crops were a bounty,
A haven renown to be wanting for naught,
The plentiful seat of the county.
