Ricci looked at her and smiled,
feeling the slight squeeze on her knee.
Sandi withdrew her hand, but not before giving Ricci a genuine
smile. Her teeth were a perfect
glistening white, with dimples on either side.
That was one thing Henry lacked, dimples. Her dazzling green eyes, burned right through
her. Ricci looked away feeling dizzy.
“No problem.” She breathed.
“The more the merrier!” Henry added.
“Ricci was totally cool with it.
It was her idea.”
“Really?” Sandi asked coolly, cocking an eyebrow. She again looked at Ricci and smiled. Ricci could hear an ever so faint ‘hmmm’
under Sandi’s breath.
Could she feel the vibe Ricci was
expelling from every pore of her body?
It’d been a long time since she’d had any kind of sexual attraction to
another female. The reaction her body
was experiencing was out of her control.
She hoped she wasn’t obvious. She
realized at that moment, her attraction was to women. It was women she wanted, not men.
Sandi and Henry were twins. Henry was good looking, was nice, had a great
body, but couldn’t stir anything in her.
On the other hand, one look at Sandi, tall and lean, dark hair and dark
eyebrows, and light green eyes. With
those features, it made Ricci’s legs weak.
She was grateful she was sitting.
Her questions about being gay were answered. Bottom line, women turned her on, men did
not. Now, she wished she wasn’t on this
date with Henry. Putting on this facade
wasn’t right. She was glad Sandi was
with them, it made it all the more tolerable.
They made it to the fair, where
the whole town must have been. It was
packed. Lights adorned the nights’ sky
and the sound of music blasted away. The
smell of cotton candy and popcorn filled the air. Ricci felt the urge to run with the kids, who
eagerly joined in the festivities, but knew it wouldn’t look right, a 35 year
old woman acting that way. How she
craved her youth at times. Times like
these which were stolen away. Her first
time to a fair, and she had no idea what to expect, but knew she wanted to experience
it all.
They walked through, looking at
all the rides and games. Henry excused
himself and was back in no time with three Styrofoam cups in hand. He took the wine from his coat pocket and
divided the rest of it into the cups, throwing away the empty bottle.
“To a good
time!” He toasted.
“To a night we never
forget!” Sandi said, taking a sip.
Ricci caught the look Sandi gave
her. Sandi smiled and winked at her.
Oh, my God! Ricci panicked. She knows I have the hots
for her! Was she really that
obvious? And if she was, had Henry
noticed? She looked up at him. He was busy taking in the action around him. She doubted he suspected anything.
“So, what do we go on
first?” Sandi asked.
“That one!” Ricci pointed.
“The Ferris
wheel?” Henry asked.
“Yea.”
Ricci answered. “I want to be high in
the sky and see everything.”
“Let’s do it then.” Sandi said, heading for their first ride.
Ricci could see the lights of the
fair around her, as they circled the top.
Henry was not into rides, not like his sister. For that, Ricci was grateful. Riding along with her gave her an opportunity
to get better acquainted.
They rode all the rides
together. Ricci’s favorite was the ‘Whipper’. It went
around in circles really fast, first going forward, then backwards. The music was so loud Ricci couldn’t hear
herself scream. It was her favorite ride
because it squished the two of them together when it went around. Needless to say, they rode that ride so many
times, Ricci felt nauseous.
It wasn’t until they took a
break, that Ricci noticed Riley. She was with her girlfriends, including
Vanessa. Ricci decided, whatever
differences Vanessa and her may have had, they were obviously friends again.
“Hey Riley!” Ricci yelled, catching her attention. Riley turned around and waved, coming over to
her.
After the introductions, Riley
pulled Ricci aside.
