About the Book

God’s Book Of Dreams is the second volume by Mark Crouch, Portraits Of Life being his first volume, published October 31, 2002.

God’s Book Of Dreams makes a departure from Portraits Of Life, which consists only of poems, in that the author has included a select group of essays.  In the essays the author makes no attempt to develop a theme or subject matter.  Rather, in meditating over his life experiences, he doesn’t gloss over mistakes and regrettable activities. Instead he bares his life to the reader, trusting that its contents might be of interest and, hopefully, enjoyment.  His honesty, humor, and a keen perceptive analysis of human behavior will undoubtedly make that possible.

In the poetry the author philosophizes on varying aspects of life, of personalities, of nature, and the animal world.  Furthermore, the preponderance of poems in God’s Book Of Dreams are either biblically based or they give vivid vignettes of God’s creation, some unique as the alligator, or the frog, or the hummingbird.

It is the author’s desire that the reader will find affirmation, inspiration, and hope, as well as develop a genuine thirst for the Eternal as he reads this volume.

About the Author

Coming from three generations of forebears who felt called to missionary work, Mark Crouch showed no inclination to follow in the tradition.  Though born in Egypt while his parents were missionaries there, contrariwise, he pursued a somewhat opposite lifestyle.

Possessing maverick tendencies, he dropped out of college, calling it boring and uninviting.  Finding himself successful in salesmanship, he was often afforded the advantages of travel, which fed his curiosity about the world around him as well as satisfied his thirst for adventure.   In his ‘30’s he returned to his early spiritual upbringing, which eventually led him to pursue studies in the Bible.  But it wasn’t until his mid ‘40’s that he suddenly began to write poetry, which culminated in his first book of poetry called Portraits Of Life.

In this his second book God’s Book Of Dreams, he has combined poetry, largely Biblical or inspirational and a group of essays.  The essays were written almost two years before rhyme began to surface in his mind.

Loving the outdoors from infancy, he took every opportunity afforded him to observe and study God’s animal and bird world, even the intricate behavior of insects.

Enjoy exploring with him the beauty and grandeur of God’s incredible creation in God’s Book Of Dreams.
