About the Book

Welcome to Havensburg 1935.  Vivian McKenzie is the daughter of a man who is a wife beater and leader of the Ku Klux Klan.  Vivian has grown up in a world where work is her life and fear is a daily event. Not only fear for herself but for her African American boyfriend, Daniel.

When their forbidden love is discovered by Michael; her stepfather, a bar is burned to the ground with Daniel and others of the same race still inside it.

In the year of 2001 a restaurant known as The Pub is built on the land where the bar was burned.  Eleven people gather to work at this place but they all hold a dark secret, not only that but they all contain a power.

Some know and understand their purpose of coming together as others are unsure of why.  After each character experiences supernatural elements they slowly discover secrets that have been hidden since birth, and as time ticks closer for the anniversary of the burning, which occurred in 1935 they realize they are trapped in a world of nightmares, anxiety, and survival.
