We live in a culture segregated from death and dying. Their separation results in an unfortunate spiritual price for us all. My experiences have gifted me with priceless understandings, some of which I do my best to convey to you. Like many trauma survivors there is a desire to remember, to relive, a longing to understand and embody the deep spiritual mysteries that are awakened when we walk alongside the reality of our mortality.
As you journey with me, I encourage you to journey with yourself, reflecting on your own mortality. As you read the story I encourage you to slow down and take the time to speak aloud the affirmations that are interspersed among the text. I repeated them in my mind hundreds of time to ease my mental stress through challenging moments. You may wish to utilize the open-ended sentences at the end of each chapter to inspire your own internal exploration and self-discovery. The thought invitations are designed to take you into the subconscious layers of your mind where they will stimulate your imagination, creativity and inspire your self-reflective insights.
Also in reading this book, know that it is in no way intended as a prostelization of my particular spiritual practice. I believe each person’s spiritual beliefs and relationship are personal, sacred and unique to that individual. Please take what you like.

"Laura's New Heart" follows the dramatic journey of a vibrantly successful Wholistic Healer, teacher, coach and counselor as she learns she has congestive heart failure. Laura takes you along as she struggles in her efforts to implement her spiritual, creative and healing beliefs and practices in the face of her rapidly deteriorating condition. Deeply challenged by her years as a teacher, having trained hundreds of students, Laura is faced with the formidable task of practicing what she preaches, only to discover the flaws and limitations of these beliefs. It is not until Laura is on her deathbed that she consents to be evaluated for a heart transplant after which a series of uncanny miracles remarkably unfold. About the Author
For the last twenty-five years Laura Fine has successfully enjoyed a career as a teacher training hundreds of students in the creative, spiritual and healing arts. She holds two Masters degrees, one in Marriage and Family Therapy, a second in Theatre Arts. Interweaving the creative, spiritual and healing arts Laura has recognized that "Healing is creating and creating is healing - combining them is fun!" She had the opportunity to implement this understanding in facing, surviving and healing from a life-threatening illness. As a teacher, counselor and energy healer, she learned a profound recognition of the spiritual opportunity contained in each moment of life and reflects this wisdom in her compassion for our universal struggles of the mind and heart.
