On the seventh day, they could see their region of mountains where the mice lived. Both the Spice Mice and Mighty Mice came out of hiding during the light of day to surprise the Magical Owls. They knew they were finally home. All the mice made the last, and final run to their homes which consisted of a small hill with ten different holes in the ground. The two groups of mice continued to run, making faces at the angry owls. They danced, hopped, and darted, and even stopped long enough to attract the owls, then again ran on quickly to escape their claws.
By this time the Magical Owls were so enraged, and they were flying so fast with such furious speed, that the Snow Owl did not see the Ice Owl, and the Ice Owl did not see the Snow Owl until they were both directly above the mice’s little hill. The two Magical Owls could not turn, nor had the time to stop, because of their great speed. All that was heard for miles away in all directions was a loud clap of thunder that echoed throughout the dry lands.
The two owls had crashed with such force that after the loud thunder the sky quickly turned dark, and misty. There was so much thunder in the dry lands, and the weather was changing so quickly that it scared a lot of the animals.
All the mice made it into the
safety of their homes, and all of the other animals hid. After a few minutes the thunder stopped, but
the sky remained dark. The wind picked
up which began to cool off the mountains.
The dark cloudy sky prevented the sun from reaching the ground. No one was able to see the two owls, but
everyone could hear their wings flapping wildly in the sky. The weather was changing with each flap of
their wings. The animals could feel the
coolness. The force of the crash had
entangled the wings of the two frantic owls.
As they struggled to separate, the flapping of their wings was causing
the weather to change.

About the Book
The story of The Magical Owls is about ten little mice who were in search of these Magical Owls to ask them for help to cool off their dry dessert land. These Magical Owls had the power to bring water, or ice with them. In the process of asking for help the Magical Owls both decided to eat them instead. Then a long and hard chase started. The ten mice separated, five went East in search of the Ice Owl, and the remaining five traveled West for the Snow Owl.
The chase continued for days with
both owls chasing the mice, they hid under rocks, logs, anything possible to
escape the great owls powerful claws. The two groups headed towards each other to
escape the owls. Until finally the two
owls coming in from an attack speed from both directions crashed into each
other causing a big thunderstorm with hail, lightning, and cool wind. This crash saved the land, but it also
injured one owl. Days later the mountain
lion and a wolf tracked down the owl and they brought the owl back with them
without eating him, and the little mice who feared the attacking owls decided
to help and repair the wing. After the
mice repaired the owl the owl promised to fly by once a year to give water, and
snow to cool off the dry hot lands.
