The Nature of God

As you have seen from what has been said before, there really are many ideas of who and what God is in the eyes or in the minds of men.  This book will not try to describe man in men's terms, but to give man what he is from God's eyes and in this maybe you can better see what The Nature of God is and what it is not.

We will use many of men's words and turn them around to look at them from God's point of view.  There may be some ideas that will surprise you, some you will readily agree with and some you will reject altogether. The purpose of this book is not necessarily to make one feel better or to be closer to what God would like him to be.  No, there is only one purpose in the writing of this book and that is to show man the truth.

Down through the ages there has been a concept of God.  Man always has had and always will have some thought of God.  Remember now, that the word "God" as we are using it here, is a word that has been chosen to mean all or anything that men believe to be ultimate.

The concepts or ideas of God have ranged from very personal and loving to very stern, powerful and something to be feared.  You will see that God is all of these and more and even less.  Yes, God is more than He is believed to be and also less than He is believed to be.

In order to explain The Nature of God it will be necessary to use terms and ideas that man is familiar with but which really have no meaning in God.  Such things as "time" as in before or after, also "distance" and "place."  These are all relative to the actions on the earth and for reasons that will be explained.  Where there is reference to time or place it will be done so that man can better understand, but it will also be explained in other ways that may not be so easy to understand.  Every effort will be made to be as clear and accurate as your language and understanding can make it.

In a discussion of The Nature of God there must be an understanding between the reader and the writer of the words. So that the reader will understand what is being given, he must understand what it is that the writer is attempting to express.  It is not the purpose of this discussion to attempt to change anyone's ideas or to give them a lecture.  Only a person in his own mind can change an idea.

What is to be given here is only to give the reader another idea and hopefully to make him think about his own ideas of The Nature of God.  This is only done so that what is in a person's mind can be brought to the surface and examined in the light of the new ideas that are to be given here.

Believe this, there are ideas here that have never been given before.  If these ideas are believed it is because the reader finds they fit into his previous ideas.  If they do not fit it is because there is no pleasure in disturbing what has been accepted in the past.  Either way is good and has served the real purpose of this book.  It has made the reader think.
