Last Generation

Sam sat down; hard, unable to move her limbs anymore. Her brain felt like it was swelling and pressing on the inside of her head. She closed her eyes to try and relieve the pressure. Visions swirled in her mind like a tape on fast forward times a hundred. She saw so many things at one time it was unbelievable. She saw herself kissing Alex, and not friend wise either.

In another she was in and old wooden house, sitting in an old bed with the guy from her dreams...the one with the golden flecked eyes...cradling her and making soothing noises. There was one were she was riding a bay horse around a large meadow, and another where she was in a brawl with some one. Sam couldn’t tell who it was because the face was unfamiliar.

The visions came more frenzied now. Unstopped and never wavering. The settings changed from time to time. Most were back in the old time, like her dreams. But there was also a lot that was present day. Sam saw herself breaking up with Scott, saying she needed a man. She saw Heather in a hospital bed. A river, being held by strong arms, someone’s loving caress, a fire, horses, and people. Things were becoming blurred by the second. The faster the images came the more blotted and splattered they became.

Sam’s mind seemed to be responding by all the images; it was shutting down her body, slowly at first then quicker. She no longer felt the icy prickles from the swirling wind that seemed to come from her. She no longer felt bound by gravity, or confined to her body.

One picture stood out from the rest, in clarity and definition. It was as if she was standing in front of a mirror. She saw herself...two of herself, actually, each wearing different attire. One was smiling, eyes twinkling; the other was grim and solemn. Sam immediately knew she was the one unsmiling, because the other girl had a crazed look in her eyes, one of pure evil intent.
