About the Book

It was a time in the history of man when great changes were in the works. Over thousands of years, adventurous and perhaps starving people had migrated out of Africa and across what would become the European and Asian continents. These people adapted and changed to meet the challenges of their harsh environment.

The environment itself was changing dramatically as huge glaciers came down over vast portions of the continents and then periodically receded again to the north. During one of these periods of relative warmth, when the glaciers had receded and adventuresome early men were on the move again, the story of Ledor and his small band of followers may well have taken place. From their almost miraculous crossing to a new, unknown and dangerous land, to their eventual exploration of vast areas of new territory, Ledor’s people showed determination, resourcefulness and courage. The tribe members’ personalities, relationships and trials and tribulations are revealed as you journey with them through their vast new land.

Much is unknown about the exact time of the peoples appearance on the North American continent and little is known about them. Perhaps their experience differed from this story but we do know that many of the animals, tools and sites did indeed exist in the faded mists of history.

About the Author

Tom Seaman is a graduate of Cornell University. Throughout his career in insurance sales and management, and later in Real Estate, Tom has written a variety of sales training materials, newsletters, and reports. Now after years of traveling extensively throughout the United States and Canada, and reading a great deal of research, a lifelong fascination with early man has come to life in his first novel, The First People. Tom’s lifelong belief in the power of thinking positively, acting decisively, and a basic curiosity provides the framework for the characters in this work. He has often thought how exciting it would be to visit that time long ago when man took his first tentative steps on this vast continent. Now he has!
