PREY
Like
the lazy lion feasting on its prey,
full in belly,
gloating
glutton,
filled
with utmost need,
desire
and capacity--
the
hungry and exhausted tiger shows its weakness and remains unfilled--
watching
the king
possess
his needless prize dessert today.
Eventually--
when draining time
calls out for
energy,
the
king of beasts must leave
to
seek a fresh inviting conquest--
while the
prey--
soaks up the
parching, roasting sun,
and withers,
spoils--
food
for none!
A TEST
It
seems--
whichever way the
paths of the righteous run,
I stand confused
at forks of wrong.
And
though I search throughout each night
for just a hint of
right
in dreams--
I
wake
in
tears.
Oh
God--
let me look on
life
as a test,
and
help me pass it
with
a smile.
