Uphill
I
find myself
stumbling
and slipping
along this road
strewn with boulders.
This road
that winds
uphill
through branches
and vines,
to you.
Never smooth,
never easy.
Sometimes
I grow so weary of
these steps
being dangerously close
to the edge.
I Must See You
You
have told me
that you are here
“in faith alone”,
but these words give my heart
no rest,
no peace.
I still
do not possess you,
your absence
death to my soul.
You pierced my heart
then swiftly ran away,
leaving me completely drained,
motionless,
wasting away,
suffering,
and
dying of love.
My hunger,
my thirst
for you
is so intense

About the Author
Donna Lea Baross brings over thirty years of the
journey to this book. As a wife,
mother, and small business woman, she shares her gifts and talents with Sacred
Heart Parish in Auburn Hills, Michigan as a member of the Marriage Preparation
Team, and various other ministries.
Donna is also active in the Cursillo in Christianity Movement within the
Archdiocese of Detroit working with other women and men for spiritual
growth. Currently a seeker of all
things “spiritual” Donna brings a unique view to the table of God . . . and she
