About the Author

Bobby Marshall is a black man who grew up in the Los Angeles ghetto of Watts, during the time of the “Watts Riots” and the civil unrest of the mid 1960’s and 1970’s. In spite of numerous negative law enforcement roll models, Bobby had an unquenchable dream of one day growing up and donning the LAPD blue, and making a difference in his community.

Bobby grew up during the advent of Crip gangs in Los Angeles, and graduated from Locke High School in June of 1975.

Bobby founded his own company “Marshall Lock & Key in 1977. Although prosperous as a locksmith, Bobby never lost sight of his dream of one day becoming a Los Angeles Police Officer.
