Come Inside
Come inside and feel the fire that burns within my soul;
Touch the flames that still remain inside a world so cold.
Hear the joy inside my voice when of the lord I speak;
He puts the strength inside my heart whenever I get weak.
Sometimes the pressure gets so high it feels me up with rage;
So I sit down and write to you from deep within my cage.
I try to share these things in life God helped me to get through;
The guidance that he gives to me;
I want to give to you.
At times it’s hard to make it through this world that we live in,
So come inside and you’ll receive the fire inside my pen.
Beyond The Flesh
If you could look beyond the flesh and see what lives
within;
You’d see the spirit of the one you chose to call your friend.
You’d know if they’re intentions were to take you for a ride;
If you could look beyond the flesh and see what lives inside.
You‘d see the one that’s there for you;
You’d see the one that’s not.
You’d see the one that’s taking you
for everything you’ve got.
If you let God inside your heart;
then you want bite the hook.
We all can see beyond the flesh, just take the time to look.

The Fire Inside is a book that I would recommend to everyone. It not only addresses situations that we face in everyday life but it also provides spiritual guidance and gives positive solutions. The Fire Inside gives strength in times of weakness, hope in times of despair, and direction to those who have lost their way, as we all do sometimes. This is not the kind of book that you read and put up on a shelf. This is the kind of book that you read over and over again throughout the years. The word fire is a symbol of the passion that the author held inside during the writing of this book; and that’s what makes it so very real. Every word is inspired by true feelings and real emotions.
That passion or that fire, has been released, giving the world what is known today as The Fire Inside.
About the Author
This is the first published collection for Vincent Dandridge. He is currently at work on his second book, which will be a collaboration of local poets in his area. Vincent lives in Memphis, TN as a single parent.
