The fireflies scream as the cat sits in a
trance. Thoughts of sitting by the
phone alone, awaiting the call that never comes. Trying to recall where it was,
and how did it come to this? Where is
the bliss? Was it sealed in that last
kiss? Whatever happened to that
women? Whose time, we did once
entwine. Whose lips were as sweet as
wine. Whose departure left ripples in
his heart and mind. Must he always be
cruel to be kind? Perhaps it's the
result of being left behind.
Lightning bugs are making this scene, beyond his
window screen. Inside his heart is
screaming as desire fades. Must his
lack to trust, turned his heart to rust?
As now his waning desire fuels his funeral pyre. He feels the fire of his youth decline. Now he cues in line to claim forgotten
dreams too late. As the coldness of age casts its shadow, crossed his
days. Still searching to belong can
this be so wrong?

About the Book
A philosophical journey through the metaphysical realms of life. Mind Scapes2 is written by a natural poet, who presents his gift to take from the heavens, shape, molded and presented to us here on earth. An entertaining and unique glimpse into ourselves one in which the author hopes shall enable us to smile, pause, laugh, cry, and generally find a joy to spend time with. From probing questions such as, “Antediluvian days, futuristic haze did our conscious, really change?” that can be found in his poem, entitled “Religion?” to even deeper questions, ”Of love or fear to which would you adhere?" that can be found in his poem “Enigma". The serenity of ”As this morning sun begins gleaming the birds are singing." which can be found in his poem “Morning Sung". To the warning found within “Creation”, “Let us digress must this manifestation be brought to light?” The philosophical preponderance of “Trust”; “Why is it that trust turns to rust?” To the social observations found in “Predator & Prey”; “Predator and prey, all good girls and boys go to church too pray.” Mind Scapes2 is a virtual palette of textures of life, captured within the author’s unique free verse style!
About the Author
The author, a native Trentonian born and raised in
New Jersey has been writing poetry for over 15 years. He is a community activist who belongs to various civic
organizations, who deal mainly with quality-of-life issues. He was a vital member
of a group, who advocated for the equitable buyout of the owner occupants in
the federal mitigation of Mulberry Street.
He is also an A+ Certified Computer Repair Technician who freelances
from his residence while providing care for his mother who suffers from
Alzheimer's and his brother who is disabled from arthritis. Mind Scapes2 is his most recent work, which
is a metaphysical journey through society.
Mind Scapes2 is a thought-provoking work that provides a unique glimpse
into life.
