About the Book
Humorous recollections. A sense of the growing up in 1950’s and 60’s in small town
Georgia, and those wonderful if basic principles that were and are a part of
successful living is what you’ll find in “Eat Here & Get Gas!” It is a collection of stories, tales,
characters, and ideas, mostly true, that came together to create Charles
Williams, a man who is indeed crazy...in the best of all possible ways!
“You can have everything in this world you want if
you’ll help enough other people get what they want!” Charles’ Icon, Mr.W.S. Stuckey proved it...and by the way,
that’s where the title comes from.
You’ll enjoy that story. It may
not be exactly what you had in mind.
Most things aren’t in this world you know.
Treat other people the way....he’ll demonstrate how to
finish that guiding principle for family, business and every other
application. This is after all, a very
practical “how to” collection!
How can an old “Black iron skillet” fit in
here? This is a touching story of a
very beautiful lady, a dear friend of a lifetime.
“Yankees head south in the late fall every
year...and they come back through in the late spring!” Mr. Stuckey saw ‘em comin!
Lot’s of folks got rich on his vision.
“If you don’t make money on your friends you
can bet your enemies ain’t gonna’ give you a chance! “ Vernon Williams, his hero
and his Dad!
Delightful stories.
Great lessons. Wisdom and humor to brighten your days. An altogether excellent experience by a very
talented “Southern Gentleman!”
You’ll enjoy this book!
About the Author
Charles Williams is a product of the rural
south. He has a delightful sense of
humor, a heavy helping of talent,
and a depth of energy and
enthusiasm that is contageous everywhere he goes.
Charles grew up selling Fords. His dad, Vernon, was the local Ford dealer
and selling and making sure friends and
customers always got more than they expected has been a standard every day of his life.
Charles didn’t listen to those people who told
him: “It ain’t never been done
that way before” and “That won’t work.” Instead, he parted with tradition, created
his own business, an advertising agency in, of all places, Chauncey,
Georgia, and has become very successful as a businessman, a sought after
speaker, a finger-style guitar picker, and southern style storyteller. Charles Williams loves to help people
laugh! Even better, everybody has a
front row seat at his performances.
Williams is a graduate of the University of Georgia,
a commercial and instrument rated pilot, an AOPA member, and a former Infantry Officer.
Most of all he is a loving father, a dedicated husband, and Christian
businessman with a quick wit and a storehouse of characters, impersonations, songs, inspiration and enthusiasm. Get to know Charles through this book! Get him to come to your next event if you
want to encourage and delight your groups or audiences!
“This Man really
