The Mysterious Love Letters

Nicole said she would only be a few minutes.  As Nicole turned the corner, she was suddenly pulled into a doorway and a large hand was clapped over her mouth.  Carol was watching in the rear view mirror and immediately picked up her cell phone and called Scotland Yard.  “I thought I told you to stay away from the Smithes”, the man said gruffly to Nicole.

She recognized him as the same man that had pushed her down in front of the Media center and had spied on her at the restaurant.  Nicole struggled with him but suddenly Carol was there.  She swatted him in the head with her pocket book and kicked him in the leg with shouts of “Leave her alone, you oaf!”  He knocked her on the ground with one swoop of his arm.  But just then a police car pulled up and two constables arrived on the scene.  They put the man in handcuffs and asked Carol if she wanted to go to the hospital.  Carol said she was fine and didn’t need medical attention.  Aside from a stain on her dress and a scratched elbow, she was none the less for wear.  The police told them to follow them to Scotland Yard.  “The Yard” was not too much different than the “station” where Nicole’s father worked.
