WHAT IS REALITY
What is Reality?
Is it you and me?
Or how about the world we see?
Is it the singing sparrow in the evergreen tree?
What is Reality?
Is it the silent sprinkling of summer?
Or does our world grow dimmer?
Is reality just a dream I see?
What is Reality?
Red roses in rippling water?
Brave Eagles flying higher?
Maybe only our sweet desire?
Oh, tell me please what is Reality???
Through my vision
cleared,
In the foggy mists appeared,
Sweet JESUS OF NAZARETH!
For He is Reality.
Not the foggy, empty visions of what we see.
DANCE OF DREAMS
Material wealth is
often dreamed.
Fame and fortune is highly esteemed.
Money can be used as a magic wand;
Dance to the tune and sing our song.
The song of the
Dance goes on and on,
And it leaves us empty until our soul is gone.
The night still young and the music strong.
Pain of shattered relationships suffers long.
We may have the,
“dance of dreams” throughout our lives,
But shall we ever see past the darkness and the lies?
Our hearts be empty ---- yet our pockets full.
Will we ever see the light or will our souls be stole?
After all these
years I often wonder,
When my dreams were lost and torn asunder.
To find out what it really means,
To change the song and start to sing.
Light pierces
darkness and through the haze,
The Son of God beholds my gaze.
My pockets empty yet my heart is full.
I will surrender to the Lord and give my all.
After a season of
time has passed.
Material wealth came again at last.
Although this time my soul reborn.
I’ll live for Jesus this I’ve sworn.
For material
possessions I no longer live alone,
Or my heart may become cold and turn to stone.
I found the Spirit of God really does exist.
Free from false hope and mindless bliss.
These convictions I
leave with you,
Because I know that He is true.
And I pray that you find as I did then,
That dreams can be reborn again.
May you find peace with an Eternal Friend.

About the Author
David Eylander has a natural talent for writing poetry that sparks the imagination and challenges our thinking. He has been writing poetry throughout his childhood. When He was in the eleventh grade, the Golden Poets Society published his first poem “WHAT IS REALITY.” He excelled in all of his English and Creative Writing classes, which led him to attend seminars from the Writer’s Guild. Furthermore, his first short story, “WINNING THE WAR” was published at North Central High School in Spokane, Washington. He is thirty years old, lives in Western Washington, and has been pursuing an Independent study of English and Literature, which will eventually lead to his Batchelor’s Degree. His hard work and natural talent has earned him a place with the leading poets of the last few decades.
