About the Author
Mary Ann Laser was born in Hazleton,
Pennsylvania. She studied nursing in
New York City, returned to Pennsylvania, then relocated to Maryland. She worked as a civilian at Walter Reed Army
Medical Center for 33 ½ years, and received numerous awards for her outstanding
and ingenious ability. At the time of
her retirement as Administrator for the U.S. Army Dental Corps in 1984, she was
the recipient of the Walter Reed Medallion, an honor given to very few
people. She has been acknowledged for
poetry written as recently as 2002. She
currently resides in Silver Spring, Maryland and is a self-employed consultant.
