He turned on the emergency flashers and I thought for an instant that if the police pulled him over, I would probably curse him to no avail.
“Dad, can’t you go any faster!” I could just feel the anger and irritability brewing. I was losing my tolerance for just about everybody and everything by now. And if the truth be told, I was scared to death I was going to lose this baby. Especially, now that my water had broken. Where was Aubrey? Why hadn’t she called me back by now? I know my cell phone is on...
“Look out!”
Out of the corner of my eye I saw something coming at us. As if occurring in slow motion, a car was coming right at us and was going to hit us on my side of the car. I could feel myself trying to brace for the impact, but it was too late. I closed my eyes and cringed as I felt the impact slam me into the door. I heard mother scream as glass, from the windshield, exploded all over us. The car felt like it was swerving back and forth out of control. Each hit yanked me continuously around the inside of the car like a pinball. Dad tried to keep the car from hitting other vehicles in our path, but it was impossible. The echoing sounds of metal hitting against metal were almost deafening and after it seemed like one intense hit after another, the battered car finally came to a jerking halt. I was so dizzy with confusion that I just couldn’t move. Lying still and hearing only silence, I fought every muscle to try and move, but it was hopeless. My baby--

After completing her Master’s

She’s admitted she’d always wanted to write since her Creative Writing class days in high school. The author further explained that she’d always had an active imagination. She often tells her friends and family that having the desire to write, combined with her active imagination are gifts. She confesses that despite her chosen career, writing is her passion.
