About the Book
Marty, a single-parent widower,
becomes smitten with new co-worker Elena,
an intelligent, ambitious, and sexy analyst.
Gwen, thirty-three, single,
and anti-jock, falls for Vincent,
muscular and heroic, at the fitness center.
The two new relationships develop in similar and parallel manners. Marty
and Gwen, who have never met are
unaware that the objects of their respective infatuations, Elena and Vincent share
a common bond; they are both very unhappily
married – to each other.
In alternating, parallel chapters, Marty and Gwen each recalls the challenges of seeing beyond the façades and
the confusion of what becomes passionate infatuation. Independently, they learn about Elena and Vincent and
how their marriage came apart. Marty is drawn into Elena’s perspective, while Gwen, similarly learns Vincent’s perspectives. Of course, those viewpoints differ, even as Elena and Vincent depict the same event.
Amidst the complexity and isolation of a
relationship with someone who is not quite unwed, Marty and Gwen must
discover the true natures of their conflicted love interests. Then, when their paths all cross, emotions
turn, perspectives become unclear, and suddenly, the relationships spin out
from this turbulent meeting in differing directions – into loves: unparalleled.
