About the Book

While the locale and characters are fictional, many of the events in “Time In A Bottle” are biographical. Pulling from his own life experiences, Steve Young explores the human relationships which begin in childhood and often become lifelong.

The novel is a chronicle of the adventures and misadventures of five small town kids -- “The Pirates of Pleasant Point” -- and how those childhood friendships lead to bittersweet secrets buried in bottles and ultimately the rediscovery of a relationship thought lost forever.

About the Author

Steve Young recently retired from a thirty-three year career as a Professor of Education at Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky. Reared in a small town in Kentucky, his passion for writing developed from a desire to recount stories told to him as a child as well as his own experiences growing up in rural America.

He holds a doctorate in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University. Although having written a manual for the teaching of decision making and critical thinking, this is his first work for the popular reading market. His other interests include folk singing and woodworking.

He and his wife Barbara live near Morehead, Kentucky on a ridge top overlooking Daniel Boone National Forest with their two collies.
