G.D.: Can we talk?
You: We-el, yes!
What about?
G.D.: Celibacy,
life. Do you know what celibacy means?
You: I think I’ve
heard of it, but I’m not quite sure. Yeah, what does it mean?
G.D.: This is
according to Webster’s dictionary, okay? Celibacy: complete sexual abstinence.
You: Wow, that’s
really saying a lot. Wait a minute. What does Webster’s have to say about that
long word at the end of the definition--aa----bb-----something?
G.D.: Oh,
abstinence?
You: Ye-ah--
G.D.: It means to
voluntarily do without: (anything)
You: Okay, Gospel
Diva. Why don’t you just give me a general breakdown of what’s really on your
mind. Talk to me!
G.D.: I’d love
too. I think you know me well enough to know by now that I really do love
imparting any valuable information to anyone who is willing to learn and
listen.
You: Yes, at
least, that well. Go for it!
G.D.: When I see
the word, “voluntarily”, from my understanding, it implies that it’s up to
you. You know, the choice is yours.
Your will be done-- Here we go with Webster’s definition again. “Voluntarily”
means brought about by one’s own free choice. Another one; not intentional, not
accidental, controlled by one’s mind or will. No, I’m not talking about
children who have been molested, or victims of incest, or even rape. I’m no authority on age of accountability,
but I do know that no child is ever too young to know the Word of God. It’s
really not too heavy, and most of all, thank God. His Word is not religion.
It’s about how to have a relationship with Him. God’s Word is about Life. My
goodness, children are exposed to just about every kind of evil today,
anyway. I have a heart for the children to be equipped – to live
life the God planned, especially the female gender. I’m no really biased. But,
I am very sure of my purpose, which just happens to be focused on the female
gender. I believe God is very specific in His purpose for us all. I also
believe that with me being clear about my purpose, I will be able to be more
effective in how I help the female gender. Females will come to know their
purpose as well.
You: Hey, Gospel
Diva, you mentioned something about life, purpose. Why don’t you tell me more about how this celibacy thing and how
it pertains to life, based on your experience?
G.D.: Okay. Celibacy was like a foreign word to me at one
time. If I did hear about it, I certainly didn’t want to know about it, because
by the time I heard about it, I was already into having sex (fornicating). I’m
using the more formal word because I want you to become more familiar with how the Bible refers to it. Actually,
sex was created by God and in the right context – which is marriage – it is
beautiful, at least it should be. In Genesis, it says that everything that God
created was “very good”. I vaguely remember hearing talk of
abstinence in communes, where couples went to know each other better without
having
Sex. When I look back now, that, I believe, was a seed of information planted in my psyche, or soul (mind). Also, by the time I heard about celibacy, sexually transmitted diseases were beginning to escalate. But still, no one who I hung out with was talking about being anywhere close to celibate. We supposedly were having a good old time, having sex. Before prophylactics were the popular way of practicing safe sex, the thing to do was to communicate and at least tell the person you were having sex with what you had- like herpes, for example. Then, as time went on, I heard about more people considering not having sex because of AIDS. I know it sounds like I didn’t have any opinion. Well, I really didn’t, except “if it feels good do it”. It didn’t count for much. “Destruction”. I couldn’t imagine not having it. But then, I started having a lot of female problems. I was in discomfort most of the time, I had sex from the day I got saved, until I actually stopped, (which has now been, “oh about fifteen years)! There were a couple of years in that time when I began to go to different doctors here and there. The discomfort was such that I felt like I had a bladder infection every day for six years. Some bladder infections are really painful. I think I probably had only one pretty painful one. This feeling more annoying than anything. It basically felt like I had to go to the bathroom all the time and my cervix had just been irritated somehow. Since I’ve been celibate for all these years, I’ve even gotten papsmeres where I could hardly relax to get one without having pain. I did finally find a wholistic doctor who was incredible. I know one who was God sent. She finally, after doing a very extensive and thorough history of eating and living patterns (lifestyles) came to the conclusion that I had something called, “candida”, which has a variety of interesting symptoms. I began to get on the nutritional and exercise program that she recommended and I noticed that the symptoms were diminishing. I was very diligent. I would even take my special food where they didn’t have what I could eat. I did lose some weight, which keeping weight on was my challenge. People wondered was going on with me. About the Book
Is an “adventuresome” walk with the author, Carla Bagnerise, for the reader into her heart, life and mind, who became the Gospel Diva (divinely, inspired, virtuous, anointed). It may sound somewhat boastful to adopt such a title, but her creative, autobiographical flair in this book, embodies “confident and candid words that describe this, ultimate personal relationship with a man named “Jesus Christ”, with whom she has developed intimacy, almost beyond description and who has motivated her to be celibate (abstaining from sex, only before marriage) for about fifteen years. She expounds in a conversational and very personal manner, her life before her relationship with God and after to encourage, protect, inspire and strengthen the reader, she explains why this lifestyle has been so important and gives suggestions about how to. There’s no easy steps. Seriously, sincere, empathy expresses that Jesus is the way, the truth and the “life”, conveying, “celibacy = life,” in the right context, via her life story and several interviews.
About the Author
Carla Stephanie Bagnerise, was born, bred and raised in Los Angeles, California. Then she was born again on January 12,1980, thereafter, toddling around with no knowledge of God, (meaning not hearing a word) until 1986, when she arrived back home to Los Angeles from New York City, where she lived for two years (1984 and 1985). She arrived in Los Angeles on a Monday, started attending Crenshaw Christian Center on that following Sunday, became filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, “got wrapped up, tied up tangled up”, in the word of God. She began to zealously, “oops” spread the gospel, actually leading some to Christ, laying hands on the sick, yes to see some recover, and developing her music ministry, and with that has come even more people, getting physically, emotionally, and mentally healed. Miss Bagnerise has attended “Zoe Christian Fellowship Leadership Training Program” (phase one and phase two) to clarify her God given purpose. She continued her preparation at “Crenshaw Christian Center, Ministry Training Institute” to complete the two year program in June. After becoming active with “God In Our Midst” Ministries, ministering in music and teaching/preaching, was now qualified and did become licensed, by Crenshaw Christian Center, effective, March of 2000. Shortly after her graduation, she wrote this book Celibacy = Life and Spirit Lead Shopping. She says the Lord gave her the title of “songtrepeneur” (meaning, singer, entrepe-neur), which is encompassing of all that God has called her to do. Carla heard that still small voice, one day say, your purpose is to “disciple, mentor and groom female leaders.” Miss Bagnerise is presently unmarried, with the expectation, of embarking upon a “beautiful marriage in the Lord, that is full of life . . . Zoe (the most high God kind of life)!
