The earth was young. Creatures
dwelled in the seas and on the land. These creatures were small, large, and
huge........
........... Two large saber tooth
tigers recline on the edge of a
large field. They are full from a
recent meal and want to rest, but they dare not take unnecessary risks.
However, they want to hurry. The tigers can barely see over the grass. They
raise their huge heads slightly to see every part of the field. Their movements
are slow and gradual as they survey the field. They want to cross the field
instead of skirting around it. They are heading for their den in the hills and
want to reach that resting place without any challenges. No big ones are visible. The big cats slowly
start across the field, bypassing the safety of the trees. Their moves are
quiet but quick. Suddenly barks arise from thousands of dogs somewhere ahead of
the cats. The big cats slink to the ground disappearing into the grass. The
cats’ fur bristle, not in anger, but in fear. This sound means the Techichi are
forming packs in preparation for a hunt. The cats know that they can challenge
a few Techichi, but thousands is another thing all together. The cats move
quickly very close to the ground to the nearest trees and cover. All the
animals in the area have heard and are heading for safety. No one will
challenge thousands of hungry Techichi. As the cats reach cover, and know they
can escape safely, they let out mighty roars. The mighty cats move on their
way, tails popping in frustration, letting the Techichi have their way.
Techichi
Within a small dark cave formed
by a huge flat rock that had fallen from its natural place, a small mother dog
lay with her young. This den was just right for her needs. Only very small
animals could enter it. Her pups stayed within its confines, and so far only
one had been brave enough to peer at the great outside world. The mother dog
noted this and wondered what the future held for such a brave little girl. As
this small pup matured, the mother noted her abundant spryness. This was the first
pup she named. Her playful ways reminded her of crickets. Cricket would become
her real name, her voice name would come later, awarded by the pack.
Man
The earth hid another being -Man-
in its high places and wooded areas. These beings hung on to there existence.
The sparseness of there numbers was caused by the fierce competition for space
and food. These creatures hid well. Few knew they existed and those that did
were the ones with keen awareness. The large ones never noticed them. The meat
eaters sensed them. Their time in the scheme of things was yet to come. They
dominated the secluded and quiet places. The earth would know there presence
one day, but now they were hidden from all. Their numbers were minute, but they
grew in wisdom of the world around them. They were free, and the Mighty Spirit
dwelled with them, unseen.
