About the Book

What does a small town girl do after graduation?  She leaves home for the big city and a new life.  Glenny left town in 1950 to do just that.  Thinking she knew all there was to know about life she searches for her place in Minneapolis and finds that life has a surprise around every corner.  She falls in love shortly after arriving and from then on, she has only one thing to say.  When it Raines it Pours.  She finds true love in a sailor and spends the next eight years having children and trying to keep her head above water.  She also finds that she knows nothing about life and learns all her lessons the hard way.

About the Author

Growing up in a large family was common back in the 1950’s and 60’s.  Dave along with his brothers and sisters would do all they could to drive their mother Glenny crazy before Dad (Ed) would get home.  Some of the things they did however were not deliberate and would create quite a stir around the house.  Dave watched his mother and later in life reflected on the internal fortitude that she had for the thirty years it took to raise her family.  This book is a story of the many things that happened during that thirty years.  After twenty-three years his three children are grown and he can truly appreciate what Glenny went through for her family.
