About the Book

What’s the difference between a Sea Story and a Fairy Tale?

A Fairy Tale starts out with Once Upon A Time--

And a Sea Story starts out with This “Aint” No Sh*t!

That just happens to be the title of my book,  A collection of short stories chronicling the life and tales of a merchant mariner.  Having sailed 31 years to date, I’ve lived these stories.  Three weeks out to sea at a clip allowed me the time to pass down these stories to some of my shipmates, who have begged me to share them with the world.  Without your help though, the world will never hear the one about the Nova Scotian monkey that just about tour my ears off, nor the day the raw sewage holding tank exploded on our own Captain Bligh.  Sure, other books have logged the travels of seafarers, but a book like this took the hilarious antics of dozens of pranksters and know-it-all captains to come about.  Give a read to a few of my tales, and you’ll be among the many who laughed so hard they could barely breathe.

That, my friend, “Ain’t” No Sh*t!

About the Author

This is the story of a seaman Earl(Bullet) Shepard Jr. who had started out at age  seventeen at the request of his father (Bull) to learn the ropes of the seafarering business,in order one day to perhaps follow in his fathers footsteps. Bullet continues to sail to this day some thirty years later, with some good trips, where everyone laughs, and jokes around and then some bad, where his crewmates and seafaring bothers are in sheer terror coming close to paying the ulitimate price at sea in a dangerous occupation known as the Merchant Marines.  In this game of "High Price Poker" a varity

of nautical tales has emerged, these are a few of those stories.

Most will make you laugh till your sides hurt and then there are others that will make you wonder why these men play this dangerous game called "Going To Sea"!
