About the Book

"Hector Fieldgritch" is really two books in one. The story begins with the introduction of Hector Fieldgritch and his unique ability to solve any problem with the simple wave of a feather. Young readers can learn to add and subtract alongside Franklin Ferret, Randolph Rabbit, Harriet Hen, Karen Kangaroo, Freddy Fox and Penny Possum as each ask their smart and noble friend Hector for his help. Midway, readers are taken on a wondrous journey as Hector narrates the story of a bear named Sparky. This simple yet involving story beautifully depicts how truly intertwined our lives are no matter how large the oceans or how expansive the lands may be that separate us.

This book was written to entertain children as well as to inspire them to learn. Children will love having a friend like Hector Fieldgritch.

About the Author

Rima Youil was raised and educated in Melbourne, Australia where she earned her PhD degree in Science. While she has published extensively in scientific journals and books, this is her first foray into the wonderful world of creative writing.

Rima truly believes that a solid education can provide for opportunities beyond one's wildest wishes. In fact, this story was inspired from a dream that she has now turned into reality.
