Joe and Peggy had been married about 2 weeks. Joe
was remodeling his home office into a bedroom for Michael, but until it was
finished, Michael had a bed in JR’s room. Michael had been asleep when he was
awakened by the sound of soft voices. He crept from his bed to look out into
the hallway. Joe and Peggy were just coming up the stairs. When they reached
their bedroom door, Joe pulled Peggy into his arms. She placed both her arms
around his neck to pull herself closer to him. They were kissing; not like the
good morning kiss or the good-bye kiss, but a long, lingering kiss. Joe had his
hands on Peggy’s buttock and was kneading the flesh beneath the satin gown she
wore. Their lips still locked, they pushed their way into the bedroom. Joe
kicked the door behind them, but it didn’t close. Michael crept in side and
sat, in a kneeling position, at the foot of the bed. His eyes just level with
the top of the mattress, and partly hidden by the footboard, he had a clear
view of Joe and Peggy on the bed. They were nude by now. Their kisses became
louder as they caressed each other. Their voices were rushed, their breathing
harder. Michael was about to call out to his mother when she spoke. “Oh, Joe.
Make me a baby. I want you to make me a baby tonight.”
Joe replied, “We’ll make lots of babies together.
Oh, Peggy, I love you. I’ve thought about this all day. You are so wonderful.”
Joe’s voice sounded very strange to Michael
Peggy began to cry out. “Oh! Joe! I love you Oh,
Joe! I can’t hold on any longer!”
Michael had tears running down his cheeks. Why was
Joe doing this to his mother? He watched what he thought was a wrestling match
on the bed. Their breathing was harder and faster, now as Peggy’s muffled sobs
filled the room. Finally, after what seemed like hours to Michael, their
breathing quieted, as their bodies began to relax. Together they rolled to
their side, still locked in each other’s arms.
At last Joe spoke. “I am so happy you are my wife.”
“Just let me fall asleep in your arms,” she
whispered.
He kissed her again. “You’re cold,” he said,
reaching for the blanket that had been kicked to the foot of the bed. It was
then that he noticed Michael.
“Michael!” Joe’s voice held surprise, but to Michael
who had just witnessed what he thought was Joe being mean to his mother, Joe’s
voice sounded angry.
“Michael?” Peggy questioned. “What are you doing out
of bed?”
“I heard voices,” Michael replied .
“Want me to handle this?” Joe asked Peggy.
“Go ahead,” she replied, propping herself up on her
right elbow .
Joe fumbled with his robe as he sat on the edge of
the bed, his feet on the floor. “Come here, Partner,” he said to Michael
.Michael went to Joe, who picked him up and sat him on his chest. Joe held him
up to eye level. “Now, Michael, when did you hear these voices?”
“When you and mom came up the stairs. You were
kissing. You kiss a lot, Joe.”
Joe reached out to turn on a small night light by
the bed. “You really think we do?” He was trying to hide a smile from Michael.
“You sure do, Joe. You kiss in the morning when you
get up. You kiss when you leave for work. You kiss when you get home. That’s a
lot, Joe.”
“Michael, why did you follow us into our bedroom and
not tell us you were here?” Joe asked.
“You were making funny sounds, Joe. I was scared.”
“Did you think I was hurting your mother?”
“She was crying, Joe.”
“They weren’t bad sounds, Michael. I love your
mother very much. I hope I never do or say anything that hurts her. When two
people love each other as Peggy and I do, sometimes kissing hello and goodbye
isn’t enough. They want to show each other there is more love in them. They
want to share that love together. They get as close together as they can. They
touch each other’s body and say their love. It makes them feel so good they
become excited. They want to hurry and get all that love out, but, at the same
time, they want to hold it in so it will last a long time. As the excitement
builds, they cry out to each other because it is so wonderful when all that
love runs together. It makes them very happy. Do you understand a little,
Michael?” Joe asked him.
“Well, maybe, a little.”
“You know, Partner, when we are sharing that heavy
love, we need to be alone. We don’t want a third person in our bedroom.”
“It looked pretty weird, Joe.”
“During that loving time we need to feel free to
touch each other and say our love. It is our own special time.” Joe thought for
a moment, and then continued, “Of course, if you ever have a problem that just
can’t wait, we want you to come to us, any time, day or night. From now on, I
think it would be a good idea if you knocked first and wait for us to tell you
