About the Book
Everyone has heard the old saying, “It’s not written in stone”. Unfortunately, that is not always true. There comes a time in everyone’s life when it is in stone; a headstone, that is. For Venesa, this time comes very unexpectedly, not only once, but twice.
When her eighteen-year-old daughter, Mandi, is found dead in her car, it is only the beginning of tragedy and pain that Venesa will be forced to endure. Fourteen months later the unimaginable happens, both of her stepchildren are killed.
Your first thoughts are probably “How, what happened?” Your second thought is “How does one survive?” Find out these answers and more as Venesa takes you step by step with her as she recalls the details of both tragic events. At the same time you will learn what it was like for her as she struggled through the grieving process and tried to put the pieces of her life back together.
In such troubled times, this amazing story will be an inspiration to everyone who reads it.

Looking back on the past four years, Venesa reflects on her life and what used to be and what is. Only now can she see the “big picture”. Until faced with the sudden loss of her daughter and two step-children, she never truly knew who she was and how strong she could be.
Based on her own experience, she takes you with her as she stumbles through the grieving process, and starts to reinvent who she is; making decisions in her life that she never thought possible.
At the age of forty-six, Venesa now enjoys a full life with her husband Scott, and baby Madison.
