As she gave another big deep
push, she hardly felt the pain this time probably because she was still in
shock after being told that there was still one more baby to come out. Within a few minutes, two tiny babies were
placed on Bridgett’s chest. As she looked
at them, she cried with love and astonishment and realized that she had just
given birth to the two most beautiful babies in the world.
Two days later, Bridgett was
discharged from the hospital. She was
reluctant to leave because she had nowhere to go to. She finally confided to Sophie, a registered
nurse at the hospital whom she had grown close to during her stay at the
hospital. Sophie had taken an immediate
liking for the frail and frightened looking young lady and had given her extra
attention and care. She realized that
she had no visitors and no one was with her when she delivered. She sensed that there was turmoil in her life
but did not want to pry by asking too many questions. So she just promised herself to be there for
her and help her as much as she could.
So without a moment’s hesitation,
she agreed to have Bridgett and the twins in her home until she could get back
on her feet. When she told her friends
at work, she was told that it was a bad decision because she hardly knew the
girl and that she could also be inviting the devil’s wife into her home. She agreed that she was taking a risk but she
could not see herself turning away a homeless young mother and her two newborn
babies. Somehow, she told them, she felt
that she was doing the right thing. It just felt right. She had that feeling.

About the Book
In Unforgivable Sins, her first
novel, Fatima Lowe tells the tale of twins separated when they were infants,
raised in two very different environments, later growing up as their lives
intertwined with many twists and turns.
Bridgett, their drug addicted
mother, abused and traumatized as a child, tried fighting the demons within herself to be the mother she never could be.
Crystal, the girl twin, strong,
passionate and ambitious, raised by a complete
stranger, later graduated Harvard law school and became a public defendant.
Christopher, the boy, also
neglected and abused as a child, practically had to raise himself and led a
life of crime and confusion as he battled demons and suffered from multiple
personalities, trying to survive a life of never ending setbacks.
The adventure takes the reader
from the city of
Christopher struggled for a
chance of a normal life but would he eventually find the things that he seeks,
namely love, wealth and inner peace and if so, what high of a price would he
have to pay and sacrifice in the process?

About the Author
Fatima Lowe currently lives in
She has since the age of seven
been writing poems, stories and short articles, many of which have been
published in her high school magazines where she was an active member of the
editorial board. One of her poems, “The
Child”, was a winning poem in a contestant and was published by the American
library of poetry in

she barely has time for other activities but writing is a passion that she
intends to pursue deeply.
