About the Author
Born in San Francisco, Kevin Illia spent four years
in the United States Air Force, with a combat tour in Vietnam. He then attended
Sonoma State University in California and later earned his graduate degree from
Washington University in St. Louis.
Appointed a Special Agent of the FBI in 1971, Mr.
Illia spent the next 24 years earning the nickname "Superman",
investigating bank robberies, kidnappings, and extortions, leading an
anti-terrorist team on the island of Puerto Rico, and concluded his career in
Chicago investigating organized crime and public corruption.
In recent years he has served as a Court
Administrator and Special Investigator for the Office of the Chief Judge of the
Circuit Court of Cook County.
