No More Cookies For Santa
Mrs. Claus walked into the
bedroom after Santa had finished getting dressed and she couldn’t believe her
eyes. Santa’s trousers were so tight that his seems were bulging.
“Papa, how can you breathe in
those trousers? They are way to tight! Hurry up and take them off and I’ll add
three or four inches to the waist line before you split the seems out.”
“There isn’t any time for any
sewing right now mama. These trousers are perfectly fine.”
“All I have to do is put on my
boots and I’ll be on my way to see the boys and girls,” Santa said while
reaching down to pull on one of his boots.
POP!!!! Was all you could
hear as Santa’s button popped off of his pants and flew half way across the
room.
Turkey Turmoil
“I have a great idea!” hollered
Terry turkey as he jumped up on the convention platform and grabbed the
microphone from Tadd turkey. “What if we changed the whole tradition and made
people want a different meal on Thanksgiving Day, instead of eating turkey,
they could eat something else, something like meatloaf, maybe!”
“Yes! Meatloaf!” cheered several
turkeys all at once.
“What a wonderful idea! But, tell
us Terry turkey, how could we ever change the tradition?” asked Tadd.
“Well, I’m not quite sure, but I
know there must be some way to do it. Somebody had to start the tradition of
eating turkey on Thanksgiving, so why don’t we all just start a new tradition
of eating meatloaf instead. It can’t be that hard to change a silly old
tradition!” replied Terry turkey.
Tricks or Treats
Paxton didn’t even get one
multiplication problem done before the bell rang for lunch because she was
still deep in thought.
Hmmm! Only two weeks until
Halloween. What can I possibly do to make this a Halloween that everyone will
remember, thought Paxton while she ate her lunch. As she picked through her
fish sticks and French fries and watched Daniel drink his milk, suddenly a most
brilliant and devious idea came over her.
Paxton started snickering
immediately when the whole cafeteria echoed with the loud noises that came from
the boy’s table.
“Yuck!”
“Ewwww!”
“Gross! Sour milk!”
Not Egg-xactly Easter
“I just can’t believe that I
waited until the last minute to color all these Easter eggs. How could I have
done that? I am the Easter Bunny! I have obligations and a duty to fulfill! How
did Easter sneak up on me so fast this year? I’ve had a whole year to prepare
for this. I just don’t understand what happened! What if the Bunny Council knew
that I almost didn’t get them done on time for Easter? Luckily, the eggs are
done because if they weren’t then the Bunny Council surely would have suspended
me or worse yet, relieved me of my position entirely! Oh, my goodness what a
dreadful thought!” the Easter Bunny spoke out loud to himself.
Unfortunately, the Easter Bunny
knew that the Bunny Council was still watching him very closely, ever since
that incident two years a go. He didn’t like to think about it, but the Easter
Bunny could never forget about it because he was still on probation and
that meant that he always had to stay on his toes. Surely, the Easter Bunny
never thought that he was committing a crime or anything!
