I was looking good and all she wanted to do was ruin my special day. I refused to let her do it.
When the time came, I thought I was going to die from anticipation. I wanted to be exactly in front of him while he looked into my eyes as he took off the gorilla head at nine o'clock.
I wanted to receive the full effect of this experience so tonight while in bed, I could dream about him all night long.
Now is when, had this been a movie, the camera would have slowed down to capture every flicker of precious moment that we were both anticipating. “Awwwwe,” Bud said as he listened to the story.
We slowly began to take off the mask. For a second I wanted to leave mine on so I could see him first. We had decided it would be only right if we both took off our masks off the same time. We were in that big of a hurry to see each other. I remember listening to a song, 'I only have eyes for you', in the back ground that reflected this precious moment.
My heart was beating fast with anticipation as my mask popped off first. I heard a slow moan like whisper fall from his lips. I could tell that he was impressed. I smiled as I let his first impression of me wash over me. I truly was on cloud nine.
What I felt next, of my man, made my blood run warm with a fierce rush. My heart suddenly stop and my hands became sweaty. I felt faint as the ground seem to spin slowly under me. I heard a loud intake of air and realized it was me that had made the noise. I heard the low laughter of Bobbie as she laughed about something.
My man, my Ron, my sweet man had bowed legs, jagged teeth that were white as snow, he had a huge behind, arms and legs, in which I had thought were all padding.
His ears sort of stuck out, like the ears the kids love on mighty mouse. Only I wasn't a little kid and I hated what I was seeing.
But the killer was his breath. It could have knock over a raging bull. I froze with shock. What slapped me out of my state was a piercing laugh that came from, you guessed it, Robin Hood! I regained my composure, made small conversation, complained of not feeling well, and excused myself.

About the Book
This book is about love and the trials one face, while in love. Love can often be very blind. This is the case with Dyllus Johnson. She was raised in Royal Oaks, a small town in Tennessee. Her parents were struggling middle class people, and she was the only child. Being the only child, she was sheltered from the seedy side of life, and the hurt it can bring. No longer young and innocent, she explains to her daughter about her and her friends’ growing up years. They were filled with comedy, sadness, adventure, and wonderment. Also, she talks candidly about her event filled marriage to Jake, her former husband, the bookcase, and her life after all the love fires have died.
About the Author
In the years 2000 and 2001, I was nominated as poet of the year, by the International Poet Society, in Maine. Through the society I have poems in their anthology book called, “Quick Silver Moon.”
Also, in the same years, I had the honor of being nominated as poet of the year, by the Famous Poets Society, in Oregon.
My goals are many but I would like to see one of my books produced as a movie. I would, also like to write screen plays.
I love encouraging children and adults to follow their dreams. We as adults are bombarded with the rushes of life. Our dreams are placed on a dark shelf in the corner of our mind. Those dreams appear to be a dark cloud, unreachable. Never give up. You may tire out but never give up.
