About the Book
When in the market for a minister’s training manual,
the average minister is finicky about the information, its soundness, the size
of the book, and its cost. It has to be interesting, informative, and
provocative. The manual has to be broad enough in its contents to cover most of
the subject matter relevant and relative to a pastor/preacher while at the same
time provide an instructional approach to its application. It has to be general
enough to cross-denominational boundaries and practical enough to teach as a
course. It has to be informative enough to serve as a mini-library on basic
ministerial “how to’s” yet concise enough to be one volume. In these days of
economic consciousness, it’s hard to find so much for so little. If you’re in
the market for such a bargain, this manual is for you.
About the Author
Pastor Forrest Moore is entering into his 31st
year as a preacher of the Gospel and his 24th year as a pastor. He
is the proud Shepherd of the Westhighland Missionary Baptist Church at 628 29th
St. Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He is the proud husband of a loving and supportive
wife, Emma, the proud father of two loving children, Reginald and Britanica.
He has earned degrees from Bible College and
seminary and is currently Professor of Old Testament at the Tuscaloosa
extension of Birmingham Theological Seminary. He is a gifted preacher, teacher,
and evangelist, a “preacher’s preacher.” He has a heart for the training of
young ministers for the work of the ministry. His preparation for the writing
of “What Every Preacher Should Know” was first hand. He has 13 preachers who
call him “Pastor.” Four of who are currently pastors themselves. The
responsibility for their training necessitated the construction of a manual
that covered enough preacher-related subjects to adequately prepare those ministers
for effective ministry. This is his first published work, however, if God be
willing, it won’t be his last.
