About the Book
From the frozen Chosin to the DMZ the author bring some of the action that happen during two wars. In between he tells about the training of the Marine Corps.
He also tells about his early years growing up in a orphan home. There is no longer such a place. to be found.. There are poems wrote during some of the battles he fought in Vietnam. It would take over fifty years before he could write or talk about the battles fought in the frozen Chosin.
This book is decated to the many marines who were killed or wounded during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.. BLESS THEM ALL, OOH RAH, GUNG HO.
About the Author
James Eugene Canada, nicknamed "Jeep" was born in Boonesboro Virginia in September 30, 1932. Lost mother when he was six years old and spent 10 years in the Presbyterian Orphan Home.
Joined the marines on 7th of December 1949 and would stay for 20 years retiring December 1969. As a marine he would serve three tours in a war zone.Wounded each time earning three Purple Hearts. One during the Korean War, two for the two tours in Vietnam.
As a marine he would serve as a Drill Instructor, Pathfinder for Force Recon earning his jumpwings at Fort Benning Ga. in the late 1950,s Teaching most weapons and tactics in N.C.O. School N.B.C. Warfare and Jungle Warfare School.. Last tour of duty in Vietnam was the Company Gunny for K-3-1
Received AADegree at Mira Costa College and attended Pepperdine Unv. for two years. His hobbies are gardening, fishing, stamp collecting, writing, and poetry Has many poems that has been published.
Turned 70 years old last 30 September 2002. Belongs to the Chosin Few Org. along with his first and last combat outfits and attends their reunion each year
