About the Book
They're born. They're adopted. Why? Nobody knows except the biological mother. Years later, Michelle and Asia run away from their parents because something different was going on. Something weird. The two girls go to their friends Jennifer and Sarah's house. They plan and do something and then join the Police Department. The girls are too young to work but they do it anyway. As a case is going on, Jennifer meets a boy named Adam. Later on, the five children find out they have a stronger bond than just being friends. From there, things start to change making their normal life turn totally upside down and unsafe. They find out who they are and what they have to do. Especially the Chosen Ones. The Chosen Ones have a bigger job. They have to fight to protect two worlds - The Wizardry and The Mortals.

About the Author
The Chosen Ones is the first book written by V. A. Cortez. She is currently working on her second book. She started writing two years ago at the age of 12 and stopped for several months. She then continued working on her project and finished a year later. She is currently in the eighth grade and is in the Honor Roll. She is also involved in the Student Council. One of her goals in life as she reaches adulthood is to continue writing. When she reaches her college years in the future, she will take classes to strengthen her writing skills. She also has thoughts about joining the Service as an adult. V. A. Cortez lives with her mother in a west suburb of Chicago, Illinois. In addition to writing, V. A. Cortez enjoys reading, sketching, cross-stitching, puzzles and watching movies. Her favorite sports are basketball and soccer.
