About the Book

There was a time when Montana's Bitter Root Valley became a Camelot, promising a bright and unlimited future. Its shining spirit glowed from thousands of apple trees and in the spring a cloud of fragrant white blossoms filled the valley.

Lured by the rich soil and a new venue for his horses, Harrison Jamison moves his family from Kentucky. Meagan, as earthbound as her husband is a dreamer, reluctantly exchanges rolling green hills for the intimidating mountains of the west.

Unprepared for the harsh winters and with dwindling funds, only the orchard boom keeps them tied to the land. With their dreams fading, they struggle to raise three sons through the Big Ditch era, the Great War, and the Depression. But the hard years and a failing economy puts-its stamp on Pierce, Connor, and Bailey and the next generation is changed forever as it faces yet another war .
