She stared for a minute she was speechless. She new Rusty was a good artist, but this showed talent of all talents she never knew he had. On the small wall by the door, and the door itself, he had drawn her picture in a three-dimensional setting. He had her at every angle that was imaginable. It was like looking in a mirror. On the wall she was smiling, crying, she was sleeping, he captured her inner beauty along with her outer beauty; his possession of her beauty was a violent flow.
The next wall was even more spectacular. He had Ruby and her pretty red coat by Mandy’s side running in their backyard playing, Ruby jumping and Mandy smiling, her green eyes beaming with color. On the other half of the wall was the finished product of the towers, there he had drawn himself with her. In one corner he had her father’s house looking so grand, with her holding Jessica, her father in the distance and on the other corner he had their friends. He showed the love they had for Brian, Vicki, Susan and Mark. He drew in the beach, the water and the waves the colors were utterly fantastic. He showed the rain in Miami and the rainbow from the heavens. The strip so long so dynamic, the coffee shop where they had coffee and pie on their first date and Malibu’s restaurant for their second date.
On the third corner was her standing in New York, with the skyscrapers off in the distance. The Broadway show they had seen and he had her hugging his mother. There was the park in Atlanta and the nightclubs in each city. The wall captivated her into his world and hers. He twinned them together never letting anything show but the happiness and love that he felt for her. She was in every step of his heart. She saw the love in the faces and in the colors.
Mandy couldn’t move, she had never seen anything so spectacular in her life, even in the museums. She was stunned he had lived there whole time together in his mind and on the walls. He showed Andre’s where he took her for her birthday and the circle of a ring around their table, to symbolize their engagement. He captured every smile every happy moment they shared. It was so gloriously magnificent she couldn’t take her eyes off of it.
In a brief moment she saw something so wonderful, she wasn’t sure at first but then she knew what he had done. Above the clouds and the rainbow there was an angel looking down on them, on Mandy. She looked closer and it was true. He had drawn her mother, she was beautiful a vision of heaven that only he could imagine her to be. She had lovely pearl white wings and she was smiling down on them, watching over them, protecting them and keeping them safe. The angel had a smile of approval on her face and her hands were opened to show them that the world was theirs. Mandy knew that this was what was in his heart and his soul, and it was deep.
Mandy final turned to Rusty, she had tears in her eyes, happy tears. He saw her face and placed his good arm around her shoulder and kissed her cheek. She was still speechless, she took a deep breath and let it out very slowly and then she turned to him.
"How did you know what my mother looked like?"
Rusty rubbed her shoulder. "I saw a picture at your father’s house and Charles showed me one when I visited him when we were in Atlanta. They were old but I tried to vision her inner soul from you. Your beauty, your strength and your love."
Mandy leaned back on Rusty chest and he wrapped his arms around her.
"Oh Rusty! This is so wonderful, so beautiful; I could just sit here and stare at this wall for the rest of my life. Words just can’t give it justice. Know one has ever said to me what you have said here, and in this room. If I can only give you back half of the love you have given me than I know that life will be as grand as you see it in your eyes and soul."
"It is what is in my heart Mandy. You are in my heart, angel you are my heart."
