About the Book
At eight years of age, Mireya Richardson became aware of her unusual gift. She has an uncanny ability to communicate with animals. She knows their thoughts, feels their pain, and sees the world through their eyes, even across the barriers of time, space, and death.
As a child, she hid her gift from those who would ridicule her. As an adult, she became a wildlife photographer as reclusive as some of the species she stalked. She uses her unusual abilities to find lost pets for those who are desperate enough to seek her help. When a retired postman hires Mireya to find Connor, his aging golden retriever, her life is rocked by the realization that she has witnessed a murder through the dog's eyes.
Gary Coakley, a geoenvironmental engineer, is on assignment in Minnesota when his eight-year-old daughter disappears without a trace. Mireya and Gary's paths cross when Mireya connects the murder she has witnessed to Sandra's disappearance. A thin trail of clues leads them to Cape Cod, where the adventure begins...
