GIFT OF EXPRESSION

At fourteen,
I began a revolution;
I fought people's pollution,
Then I changed my constitution;
I locked myself inside,
To be my friend
To confide in;
Now the stranger remains alive,
My friend died;
Why in the hell did I hide?
I just prolonged a war;
The inevitable came,
Fate knocked on my door;
I heard voices telling me to conform;
I lived through an agonizing storm;
People say that I'm different and strange,
But a part of me dies
Each time that I change;
At fourteen,
I thought keen;
My inside gentle;
My outside mean;
I'm still a sensitive human being,
Still changing from the revolution
At fourteen.

On an early Fall picturesque morning,
The terror attacks came,
Without warning;
And the twin towers,
Came tumbling down;
Amid the mayhem,
Many lost were never found;
And America’s major city,
Became a battleground,
For the war on hate;
The Mayor and the President,
Called upon the people’s faith;
A message that echoed,
Throughout the United States and the world;
Whether or not in Jesus’ name,
No one died in vain;
Thus in God we trust;
We must keep on going;
Forever unfolding,
His miraculous story.
